Sources close to the XDG team have informed us that big changes will be made ahead of their games next weekend. First and foremost will be their support player, Lyubomir "BloodWater" Spasov, being benched and replaced by current jungler and, it seems, all-round utility man Christopher "Zuna" Buechter moving from jungle to the support role. With a vacant slot in the jungle now open the organisation will be calling in substitute Nicholas Wu "Nickwu" Smith to fulfill that role.
The changes have been deemed necessary after the team sunk to rock bottom of the North American LCS with a record of 3 wins and 9 losses. Our sources also tell us that this move will effectively spell retirement for Spasov as it has been made clear there's no way back from him into the team. Buechter will now be filling his third role within the team, leading something of a charmed life after some criticisms for both his play as adc and now jungle. Smith, typically a top laner, will be entering into uncharted territory but the XDG management feel that there is little to lose given the severity of the situation.
The team had wanted to keep a lid on the changes for as long as possible so as to catch some of their upcoming opponents off guard but it seems they have not been clandestine enough. Still, with only little over half the season left the changes will need to work fast if they are to have any chance of avoiding the dreaded relegation play-offs to retain their LCS spot.
No official comment as of yet but we expect some soon enough.
