BOOM Esports defeated Talon Esports in a resounding 2-1 victory in DPC SEA 2023 Tour 3: Division I, with BOOM's coach Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung standing in at the eleventh hour. It was an unexpected victory against Talon, who currently jointly occupy the top ranking with three other teams in the third and final season of DPC SEA 2023 Tour 3. Mushi spoke about standing in for BOOM and playing the offlane role at the last minute and his approach towards coaching. Mushi, is there anything you'd like to say now that you're on the mic? I'm pretty happy about the win against Talon since it was a rushed decision for me to step in at the last minute. Looking at your pro-tracker, three days ago you were playing support and 17 hours ago you switched to offlane. Is that how quickly this decision happened? Yes, kind of. I've never played offlane in my competitive career, but I believe my team and what it needs. I know how to play better for my team because I know them. As a coach, how do you approach your players or coach them? First, I would like to develop a culture of family and friendship within my team so that the bonding gets strong. But at the same time, I won't go easy on anyone of them. If they lack discipline or if I find anyone still sleeping, I will still slap them. Everyone knows that this is my personality. What is the thing that annoys you the most about players you've coached? Refocusing on things is the most annoying thing. For example, we learn something and then forget about it after a few days, and need to start learning/focusing on those things again. It's more along the lines of 'if you don't step forward, then you kind of step back.' What is the one thing that BOOM has been lacking this year? I think our inability to close games properly [in DPC SEA Tour 1] and looking at our past few games, we're encountering the same problem again. It's mainly because of our communication and our team fights.
