TI8 Play-offs brackets revealed, iG and PaiN eliminated

KarY 2018-08-19 10:16:14
TI8 play-offs brackets have been revealed and a total number of sixteen teams will duke it out on the main stage at Rogers Arena in Vancouver beginning August 20, 2018 to August 25, 2018. The last team standing will lift the coveted Aegis of the Champions and etch their names in the history books. Every victory comes with a defeat, and one team's victory means another's defeat. Unfortunately, two teams bid adieu to this year's The International after being eliminated post group-stages. Chinese powerhouse, Invictus Gaming and Brazilian Juggernauts, PaiN Gaming are eliminated from the competition. Invictus Gaming's knock out was more or less confirmed, however, to the surprise of many, PaiN Gaming crashed out on the last day of the group-stage losing all of their remaining games. The Brazilians journey has been a memorable one with promising performances across the DPC circuit alongside a top four finish at a Major. It's nothing but a testament on how far they've come ahead in the past year and will only get better. That being said, other teams are gearing up for the main event scheduled to begin tomorrow. Team Liquid and VGJ. Storm lead the table in their respective groups and were given the choice to select their opponents in the Upper Bracket. Surprisingly, all American teams are placed in the Upper Bracket for the play-offs namely, Evil Geniuses, who've had a spectacular run since Day 1. However, the real surprise is Optic Gaming who were trailing behind in the last place in Group B post yesterday's results. In order to keep their hopes alive and go into the Upper Bracket they had to win all of their remaining games which they did. Virtus.Pro, Team Secret, OG and PSG.LGD are the remaining teams that'll start off in the Upper Bracket. The remainder of the Chinese teams barring iG and all teams hailing from SEA and CIS region have cemented their places in the Lower Bracket and face the risk of elimination considering the first rounds are going to be the dreaded best-of-ones. Stay tuned to Esports Heaven as we bring you coverage of the biggest tournament in Dota 2 history; The International.
