EG leading in terms of prize money earned
EG leads the chart as an organization having won the most amount of prize money in Dota 2. EG's earnings are at a staggering $18,358,204 in terms of winnings and it makes them top the charts so far. This is largely due to EG winning TI5 as well as coming in at third place during TI4 and TI6. Winnings from TI alone takes EG's tally to $12,904,539 out of the total prize money earned thereby highlighting the discrepancy in pay-outs between TI and other events. Team Liquid and OG occupy second and third position, respectively. Both teams have the ultimate trophy one can boast of in the history of Dota 2; The Aegis. Besides winning TI, both teams have also won many DPC tournaments such as Majors, especially OG, who won multiple Majors since the DPC came into existence. NewBee and PSG.LGD occupy fourth and fifth position, respectively. While NewBee has also has the Aegis under its belt, it is interesting to note that LGD is not far behind the TI4 champions despite not winning a single TI.
Youngest players to compete at TI9
Michał "Nisha" Jankowski and Abed Azel Yusop are two of the youngest players to compete at TI9 aged 18 and 19 years, respectively. Nisha first came to the limelight with Team Kinguin where people began to notice his skills that was on a completely different level as compared to his teammates. He got recruited by none other than Clement "Puppey" Ivanov to Team Secret and that's where he truly rose to prominence. He quickly established himself as one of the best carry player in the scene matched by a select few. In this season alone, Nisha has six gold finishes to his name across Majors and other third party events. In the meantime, Abed joined Fnatic in the year 2017 and has filled in the much crucial role of the position 2 in the team. One of the highly skilled mid player in the scene, Abed has made a name for himself with his signature heroes such as Meepo, Invoker and Tinker.
Oldest Players to compete at TI9
Puppey, LaNm and iceiceice are the oldest players competing at TI9 at the age of 29 years. LaNm and iceiceice were once teammates at the legendary DK where they dominated the scene from the word get go. Puppey will be looking for win his second TI whilst LaNm and iceiceice will be aiming to win their first. These players have been in the scene since Dota 2 came into existence. Note: Former TI champs like Dendi, Fear, Universe and Ferrari_430 are notable players in this category to miss out on TI this year. Dendi won the first TI with Na`Vi, Fear and Universe won with Evil Geniuses in 2015 and Ferrari_430 won with Invictus Gaming in 2012.
