PGL reverses ban on NA DPC team American Goons after "thoroughly reassessing" their initial verdict of "match-fixing." American Goons were disqualified from the NA DPC closed qualifiers for alleged betting and match-fixing.

Team American goons is disqualified from NA closed qualifiers for breaking the following rule:

Many notable Dota 2 personalities like PPD, Aui_2000, Sammyboy, Moonmeander, etc. strongly objected to the ban and  came forward to support American Goons and urged PGL to overturn the ban. Subsequently, the Dota 2 community also rallied behind the unfair disqualification and ban issued by PGL that was sufficient enough for the infamous tournament organizer to reassess the ban. According to Logical, Manager for American Goons, the investigation was held overnight and had concluded by the following morning. "When we woke up, we were informed by the PGL admins that we had been disqualified," said Logical. "We tried to talk to the admin team to explain that it was a misunderstanding, but after limited response they did not seem eager to have a conversation." He continued, "Our request for evidence showing that we lost on purpose has not been fulfilled. All we have been told is that one of our players said that we lost the games intentionally." PGL overturns the ban on NA DPC team American Goons

  Upon receiving new information after the subsequent uproar on the team's unfair disqualification from the NA DPC Closed Qualifiers, PGL reassessed their decision. PGL said, "Upon receiving new information, we have thoroughly reassessed our initial verdict and have ultimately chosen to overturn the decision previously made." PGL's commitment to "fairness" and "transparency" led them to overturn their decision. They added, "After a comprehensive review, we believe it is in the best interest of the competition to reverse the disqualification. As a result, the American Goons will be reinstated, and their position in the tournament will be fully restored." More can be read here.
