Quest Esports is on fire at the
Bali Major 2023 with their unique and aggressive game play.
Securing an upper bracket berth at the Bali Major play offs through incredible performance in the group stage, dropping down to the lower bracket and yet managing to stay alive by defeating renowned teams has made Quest Esports a lethal adversary, especially now, when they are just two series away from securing a direct invite to The International 2023 (TI12).
After securing a victory over PSG.LGD in the lower bracket quarter finals, Quest Esports' prolific support, Omar "OmaR" Moughrabi, spoke about his team's morale, their insane comebacks and mental state in the post-match interview.
Y’all are just making it a habit of insane comebacks. Talk to us about it.
Firstly, my team is amazing. They are confident and always think of what to do and are vocal about it. So we always know what to do, always have a plan and then we go for it.
What was the plan in game two when playing against Naga Siren/Dragon scale shenanigans? How did you decide to deal with this annoyance in the game?
The four of us were asking ATF to do the needful. We said, “Amar please deal with this,” and then Amar replied, “Help me please, I can’t deal with this.”
That was the conflict (laughs).
However, we managed to restrict Naga Siren from taking the barracks and went from there.
How do you guys prepare for the kind of pressure to play against the best teams in the world at the Major considering it’s your first big LAN event (minus ATF)? Have you had a conversation on what to do mentally to prepare for this?
To be honest, like I said earlier, we didn’t have any high expectations coming into the Bali Major. We just came to play Dota , to enjoy and to have fun.
As it turns out, we were kind of pressured but not sure how. We were dealing with the pressure one match at a time, improving and dealing with it mentally.
I hope we keep improving and we might have a chance to go to The International 2023 (TI12).
Speaking of which, if you win two more series then you’ll find yourself at TI12. But if you lose then Quest will have to go through the regional qualifiers. Are you scared of any of the remaining teams?
There are few teams whom we respect a lot. In our eyes, we think they are the best teams and respect everyone equally.
Right now, it’s more about us than them and if we play good Dota then we will win against anyone.
