Street Fighter 6's first major update went live earlier today, with Rashid being added to the roster with some impactful patch notes.
This is the first major patch that has been added to the game and is a crucial one due to its proximity to EVO 2023.
Street Fighter 6 Patch Notes
The overwhelming majority of items listed in the extensive patch notes are fixes. A lot of them surround specifically modern controls and will shore up a few inconsistencies that players might've been feeling with different characters.
For example, characters like Blanka and Chun-li had different charge timings when using Modern Controls. That has now been fixed.

Most of the character line-up showed up in the notes through minor bugfixes that shouldn't really impact the way people play them.
No balance changes have been made to any character, seems like Capcom is giving players the time to truly get used to Street Fighter 6's new systems before making any character changes.
Cancel Drive Rush
The big change in these patch notes comes right at the start, in the "All Fighters" section. Among other fixes, we have the "Cancel Drive Rush" and the "Cancellable Light Attacks" paragraphs.

This is going to be a very impactful change to the game and, although it is a QoL change that is in the same vein as the Modern Controls that were added with Street Fighter 6 release, it will change the game for everyone.
A Cancel Drive Rush was not easy to do, especially if you play on an Arcade Stick. Before this update, the only way to do it would be to dash after hitting your opponent with an attack that could be cancelled into a special.
Dashing is the
forward, forward input. It sounds pretty easy to use, but in the middle of a combo or when hit-confirming it could get extremely complicated. It was notoriously hard to do when using faster cancellable hits like a crouching medium punch or a standing light kick.
Capcom has not touched the default way to perform this move in Street Fighter 6, but they've added an entirely new way to do it.
As is explained in the Patch Notes, if you press the parry button (the default one or whatever you are currently using) right after hitting with a cancellable normal attack, you will automatically Cancel Drive Rush, with no directional input required.
This streamlines the "green-stuff combos", as people call them, and makes them much easier to do, while not trivializing them entirely. As is the case with Modern Controls, it allows lower level players access to the more complex sides of the game, while not harming the higher level player experience.
If you already could Cancel Drive Rush easily and have gotten used to that, go ahead, the normal input is still in the game. If you couldn't, for the life of you, pull of a "green stuff combo", well, maybe now you can!

Due to possible exploits being opened up by this addition, Capcom have made a preemptive change to Cancel-able Light Attacks. With this new Street Fighter 6 patch, you can now Cancel Drive Rush even when your Cancel-able Light Attacks miss.
This is used to prevent situations like this
one.
Rashid price
Rashid is now playable in Street Fighter 6 and can be purchased as a stand-alone character for 350 Fighter Coins. As is usual with these currency systems, you obviously cannot purchase 350 or even 700 FC.
No available pack of FC will get you a value that is divisible by 350, so you will always end up with extra currency. The closest you can get is 610FC for 11,99€.
Alternatively, you can purchase the Year One Fighter Pass for 29,99, which will get you access to four characters (including Rashid), their Outfit 1 colors and 4200 Drive Tickets.
