AKM on Rogue"e;s return: “Our goal is to win everything possible.”

Bonjour, Comment allez-vous?

Hello! ca va tres bien, et vous?

(Hello! It’s going well, and yourself?)

Hopefully the flight was well? How is Vegas treating you guys so far?

It was a 12 hour flight, so it was extremely long. It went good, I was playing on my laptop with uNKOE during the flight. Always playing something, hahaha. Vegas is treating us well, Rogue is doing everything in their power to make us feel great!

Jumping straight into things -- esports has had its share of sibling rosters. Having winz on the team, has there ever been any sibling rivalry or disputes?

There are obviously been disputes between us, because we're brothers, but having him here is also great. We've been playing games together for years, so we know each other in game very well and we both have the same mindset to win.

Any stories you care to share of you two as kids? Did you guys grow up playing games together?

When I was young, I would always ask him to play on his PC because I would look up to him and wanted to do the same thing. He never let me because he had to practice for Quake/UT (Unreal Tournament) tournaments and such. But I would watch all his tournaments, hoping he would win it all.

Now, since leaving Korea, you guys have been pretty quiet. How has the top-secret French training facility been ;) ?

It's been great. We've made sure to finalize our roster and didn't want to show up again once we're ready. Now we're ready, and it's time to show everyone that Rogue is still alive and will be a contender. We're looking forward to 2017.

Speaking of Korea, any interesting stories coming out of the East? Any interesting experiences you’d like to share?

What happens in Korea, stays in Korea ;). But Korea was great; it's the first country ever where I get recognized in the streets. Esports there is [at] a whole ‘nother level.

Many people, including your brother, echo the sentiment that Korea is already stronger than the West. Do you support these claims? What are your thoughts on this?

Korea has been stronger than the West lately because of how the meta was. Tank meta was all about teamplay, and Koreans are known to be on top at that. I'm sure the West will shine again with the DPS meta coming up!

How are you enjoying the current state of Overwatch? Anything in the PTR that you're excited for or strike you as odd?

I'd like McCree to be more in the meta; the meta doesn't really allow him to be played that much. The Bastion buff is interesting, as long as it's not too overpowered. We'll see. Only time can tell us!

I know it’s been floating around that you guys wanted to create an all French lineup. Does he/she necessarily have to be fluent in French?

It's true. Team chemistry for the long term is very important to us. We don't want to have anyone left aside, so everyone is included in conversations we have at dinner, or after scrims and all those kind of things.

Staying on the European scene, has there been any team or player that really stood out to you from Europe?

One of the players I always had a hard time against in EU was Vallutaja. Great gamesense, great knowledge, great aim. [He’s] probably one of the best players in EU.

eUnited just acquired the ex-Reunited roster not too long ago. Do you see more European teams coming to North America? What are your thoughts on a possible European exodus?

I think all the great teams will end up in NA simply because of the lack of tournaments in EU. It's really sad that it's happening, but EU [has] way less tournaments than NA since Overwatch’s release. I wish Blizzard didn't forbid EU teams to participate in NA tournaments, but that's how it is.

Coming off of a stellar 2016 with wins at the Atlantic Showdown and APAC, what can we look forward to in 2017? Can we expect a resurgence from Rogue?

I'm sure you guys will see great things from us. Our goal is to win everything possible, and we'll always work hard to achieve our goals. Let's just hope we get invited to all the tournaments now! Haha

Shameless promotion time! Any sponsor shoutouts? Perhaps a message for the fans?

Thank you very much for this interview! I’d like to thank Rogue for believing in us, and for giving us this opportunity to live in Vegas, I would also like to thank our sponsors The Loop, Clutch Chairz, LEET, CVBN Law, Dim Mak, Meta Threads, and thanks to everyone who is cheering for us, and [we] hope you’ll continue to do so in 2017. We’ll do our best to not disappoint you!
