Jacob Wolf interview at EVO 2016

DreXxiN 2016-07-21 04:40:19

With origins in the Esports Heaven family, Jacob Wolf has advanced his career to ESPN and offers some insight into esports and how to become something in the scene.

Prominent feature writer and worst enemy of shady organizations, Jacob Wolf has been responsible for breaking most critical news stories in the past couple years.  When he's not hammering away at his job, he's helping others follow in the same tracks he did, having accomplished all of his esports success in a few short years.

"All I want to do is learn and continue to help other people progresss," he stated.  However, he also offered the least comforting but most practical recurring advice: there is no secret and there is no shortcut.  The communal aspect of it was heavily emphasized by the young journalist. "Most importantly, you just have to meet people," he stated, building much of his career off of making connections and maintaining a friendly demeanor with his colleagues and sources.

Jacob Wolf explains that esports "...is in a good place, but we haven't 'made it.'" However, he optimistically looks towards the future of esports journalism, the fighting game community, and most recently, Blizzard's foot in esports.  He believes that Blizzard has learned from their past mistakes and that Overwatch has a bright future.
