Talon Esports have put an end to Team Spirit's dreams to conclude the Second Round of the Lower Bracket at the Lima Major. In a very close 2-1 series, the SEA team managed to get the best of the Eastern European squad, eliminating them from the tournament.  

Talon Esports vs Team Spirit

    In a rematch of one of the closest series in Group A, Talon Esports take down Team Spirit at the Lima Major. The teams met after both being eliminated in the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals. Talon Esports had the misfortune of drawing Team Liquid as their opponent, due to their 4th place finish in Group A. Team Spirit had a higher placing and, therefore, a much easier opponent in Shopify Rebellion, but were taken down nonetheless. This is undoubtedly an upset, as Team Spirit had a pretty decent 2022, despite their failure at The International.  Talon Esports have yet to have an impressive finish in a tier 1 tournament, so this might as well be their best shot!  

Lower Bracket Quarterfinals

  The grind isn't over for Talon Esports at the Lima Major yet, though. They still have a long  way to go if they hope for something like a top four finish, and their immediate opponent is Entity. The Western European organisation got convincingly swept by Gaimin Gladiators in the Upper Bracket Semifinals, and are now facing elimination for the first time in this tournament. The two squads will fight for survival tomorrow at 3PM UTC to see who'll face the winner of Shopify Rebellion versus Evil Geniuses. Can Talon Esports go further, or are we all out of upsets in Peru?
