Welcome to meet your Challengers, a new interview series where we talk to new and returning players that battled through the brutal WCS qualifiers for a chance to test their mettle in Challenger league and attempt to advance on to Premier. Today's interview is with Piotr “souL” Walukiewicz a Polish Terran player playing for Team Brawl. When this interview was conducted souL was still teamless, but we did follow up and get a comment on how he felt about joining Brawl once we learned that he had signed with the new team.

souL recently sigjned with Brawl eSports

Can you start by telling us a little bit about yourself? I'm not sure if all of our readers have heard of you, so it would be fun to get some background information.

Hello, I'm souL i have been playing StarCraft 2 for few years. I played for team fnatic and now I'm looking for a team. I finally qualified into Challenger League this season and will be trying my best to qualify for Premier!

You certainly made an impression by beating out Lilbow whose arguably one of the strongest European Protoss players right now. In fact your bracket contained lots of notable Protoss players, what would you say the state of your TvP is right now.

I think that I am too fast for most Europeans Protoss players. They cannot not keep up with me, because I'm always winning with a lot of harass and drops. That being said I do think that Terran has a small advantage over Protoss in the current meta.

In the second European qualifier you were knocked out by Harstem, another strong European Protoss player. Is there anything specific you adjusted in your play that allowed you to succeed?

Not really no. I practice a lot with Harstem. I think he knows me too well for me to beat him. He's also one of if not the best European Protoss so me losing to him is not to surprising.

As a follow up to that where would you say your confidence is in other match ups?

I feel good now in TvZ right now, because mech has become so op and in terms of TvT I never meet Terrans so I don't really care about my strength in that match up.

For our readers that were unable to catch your games could you describe your play style with one or two sentences per match up.

I'm happy to play various styles, it really depends on game for me. In TvP I like to do a lot of drops and in TvT I play very defensive, but I use both, bio and mech in TvZ.

What was your practice like leading up to the WCS qualifiers? Do you focus mainly on ladder or custom games?

I'm playing only custom games right now.

The Challenger matches will be drawn on Monday. Is there anyone in particular that you're hoping to come up against?

Doesn't matter because I'm sure the number one seed will pick me first, because I am the least well known.

Do you think you have a good chance at surprising everyone and qualifying into Premier?

I should have a good chance if I meet anyone that lost in the Ro32 or Ro16 but like I said I think its likely I'll be picked first and I'll have to meet the best European players currently playing in WCS.

Going off your Twitter it would appear that you're currently teamless. Are you currently seeking a team? After all qualifying into Challenger is likely to open opportunities for you.

I'm in talks with a few teams and plan on joining a good one very soon.

Do you have any last words for our readers, and any new fans that you may have acquired?

Thanks and please cheer for me in WCS!

Finally any shout outs? Where can we find you on social media?

You can find me on Twitter @BrawlsouL!

After we learned that souL had been signed by Brawl eSports we followed up with him to see how he felt about the situation.

I am really happy to join Brawl, and they really want to support me. I hope I can level up my skills while playing for them!

Be sure to see who picks souL during the Challenger picks on Monday 5PM CEST on the WCS channel. Also check beck for our next interview with Serbian Terran player Beastyqt.
