OG Esports came out of the first day of the ESL One Major Berlin 2023 with a clean 2-0 win over Xtreme Gaming, despite fielding two stand-ins in a brand new patch. The ESL broadcast got to interview Taiga, who went into a bit more detail on how OG are tackling this tournament under such weird circumstances. That was a nice win, how did that feel? Feels great. It's always nice to play ESL with stand-ins (MinD_ContRoL and Kitrak) and show up on the first day. So, I'm looking forward to the second day, because we're probably going to play [versus] harder teams. How's MinD_ContRoL doing so far?  He's been doing great, actually. He brings good vibes, he is excited to play, the moment he stepped into the arena he was like "I want to play, guys, it's been a while". He is very motivated and it's nice to see that. Game 1 looked pretty close. Were you guys worried at any point? Yeah, it was a bit close but, you know, I had Midas. We know that if the game goes too long I will eventually carry. I had Midas/Aghanim's ready just in case. In game 2 there was a big fight around 60 mins around this defusal timing on the Pango and you just never stopped, you just kept fighting. Do you think that's the best way to play Dota on this patch? Not necessarily. We just felt it in the moment. bzm just wanted to fight, he was like "I want to do something, I'm bored of farming creeps." You guys certainly had a "military failure" in this game against a Beastmaster, yet you guys didn't look worried at any point, did you? No, I think there are so many things to do in this new map, in this new patch. There's a lot of things people don't really know or understand, so we can abuse the fact that neither team knows the game too well, so we can play the game based on how we're feeling. There aren't big expectations for us. We're coming here with two stand-ins, we did not practice the day before [the series] and the patch just got released, so we just kind of play "chill".
