TI8 has officially reckoned upon us and we are in for a treat for the next ten days. So far, day one for TI8 has been surprising to say the least. You might be wondering why? Let me enlighten you folks as you're in for a roller coaster ride. So let's take an example between the first series of day one, Team Liquid versus Fnatic. You might think the defending champs in Liquid would have an easy road to victory, however, that wasn't the case as Fnatic came close to winning both games in the series. Unfortunately, it's Fnatic that we are talking about. Yes, the same team that's notorious for giving away huge leads thereby resulting in a loss. Few decision making mistakes cost Fnatic the first game against Liquid as they were unable to finish the game while ahead in terms of gold and experience. Now if that is Fnatic's poor plays or Liquid's smart play, it's completely up to ya'll to decide. The second game, however, was completely unexpected. Can you imagine Pieliedie (popular for being the sacrificial lamb in all of his games) not dying even once in an entire game? Doesn't fit properly now .. does it? Yes folks, you heard it correct. In the immortal words of TobiWan, "It's a disastah ...!", Liquid was able to siege only one kill during the entirety of the second game against Fnatic which indirectly made Abed the top feeder in EternalEnvy's team with one death to his name. Now if you think that's all then you're absolutely wrong. Ever expected Team Serenity, the Chinese underdogs, to take a game each from Secret and Virtus.Pro? No right? I thought so too. Now imagine a scenario with Serenity being in the lead by a humongous margin of 47k gold lead versus Secret? Seems like a dream yeah? Sorry to say, but it ain't a dream no more. The Chinese did seal the deal in game one with such a big lead and later on denied Virtus.Pro a clean sweep as well. On the other hand, VGJ Storm so far has remained unbeaten with a score of 4-0 and lead Group B. On a completely off-related topic, Evil Geniuses has topped Group A. How amazing is that? Seems like Fly has waved his magic wand and made EG's misery (no pun intended) disappear. If there is a series you should not miss out on, it's definitely gotta be the series between two behemoths, Team Liquid and PSG.LGD that has now become a part Monster as well. The series is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day and its entertaining at it's very best. Day 2 is about to begin in a few hours and we can expect a whole new spectacle as well. In the meantime, Day 1 standings can be seen below: That being said, some fun facts you should definitely read in case you missed out on a few statistics. Enjoy!
