ESL has been officially confirmed as the organizer for the Dota Berlin Major 2023. The top eighteen teams in the world will be heading to the German capital to earn their shot at the $500,000 USD prize pool. Here are all the details released so far.  

ESL One Dota Berlin Major- When and where

  Dota 2 is coming to Berlin between the 26th of April and the 7th of May.  The top six teams in the tournament will be heading to the Velodrom Arena between the 5th and 7th of May. Tickets will be sold starting tomorrow, the 8th of February. More information regarding tickets and the arena is available on ESL's website.  

Teams

  Eighteen teams will be coming from all over the world. Western Europe and China get four seeds each, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe get three seeds each. Lastly, North America and South America will get two seeds each.  

Format

  The format is identical to the one present in The Lima Major 2023. It is as follows:

• The tournament is divided into two phases: Group Stage and Playoffs.
• The Eighteen teams are split into two groups of nine.
• Matches are Bo2 in a single round-robin, with six teams from each group qualifying to playoffs. Bottom three teams from each group are eliminated.
• Top four teams from each group automatically advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs, 5th and 6th place teams will go to the lower blacket.
• Playoffs are a double-elimination bracket with BO3s for every match except the Grand Finals, which is BO5.
• The latter half of the playoffs will be played on stage, at the Velodrom Arena.

 

Dota Berlin Major Prize Pool and DPC Points

  The $500,000 USD prize pool has been confirmed, but no Dota Pro Circuit points have been announced yet.  

Streams

  ESL will be broadcasting the event live on Twitch and Youtube. They have confirmed that the Youtube streams will be available at 1440p.
